So
many early Porsches grace the screen of ebay that hardly resemble what the true
Porsche heritage is all about. Many are beaten, battered and bruised and can be
very expensive to restore and operate. Essentially the body of the 911 has gone
unchanged for 40 years, but advancements in German engineering, technology, and
aerodynamics continue to make it one of the leading and most powerful sports cars
of all time. I am an avid Porsche collector and restorer and continue to look
for more projects to work on. This is a classic and reliable car that
was restored correctly, with no expenses spared and with the highest of quality.
The low mileage 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet you see here has just completed
a full interior and body restoration, however, understand this car was meant to
drive and enjoy, and is not meant to be a concourse show winner. If you know anything
about Porsches, no one puts an engine together better than the certified Porsche
German mechanics and I am very fortunate to be in a network of highly skilled
Porsche mechanics that are all certified, trained and skilled to work on my Porsches
restorations. The 3.2 liter is original and has been regularly serviced in Indiana,
PA. This extremely low mileage car with 64,000 original miles, is a two
owner PA based Porsche that spent most of its life in western PA. After many years
with an owner that pampered this weekend cruiser with regularly scheduled service
being performed and documented, they decided to trade the car in for a new model
car in 2007. Thatâ€s correct, the same original owner for 21
years!! I looked very long and hard for a great base restoration project for the
Xtreme MotorCars 993 Strosek body kit you see here. This Porsche is VERY strong
and will bring its new owner years of enjoyment. The car just had its 60,000 mile
service performed at Specialty Cars, an awesome Porsche repair facility in Allentown,
PA that specializes in Porsche repairs and restorations (www.specialtycarsservicecenter.com).
I purchased the car for the sole purpose of building a strong and reliable Porsche
for enjoyment. The entire car was repainted in the original Guards Red in July
2008 after a Strosek C2/4 widebody body kit from Xtreme MotorCars was installed,
along with a new carpet kit, brand new leather seat covers, brand new leather
rear seats, a trunk kit, a custom leather center counsel and electric antenna
and CD stereo. The paint was applied by East Penn Fleet Services of Emmaus, PA,
and is a 9.5 out of 10. Additionally, I installed a new convertible top, along
with new power motors and very expensive stainless steel high performance Stebro
header and exhaust system that sounds incredible. Again, a high performance sound,
not loud and obnoxious. I also had a new 993 rear center reflector, along with
new door moldings, monochrome door handles, a new 930 steering wheel, 993 power
heated mirrors and brand new 993 xenon headlights, 993 tail light lenses and seals,
all from Sierra Madre Collections. Additionally, I installed a custom made 993
Turbo rear wing and labeled the car with the very expensive Millennium Anniversary
stainless steel 911 badge on the rear. The RUFF Racing (not that RUF) wheels are
18x8 and 18x9.5 with 3†spacers in rear and 1â€
spacers up front. The brand new tires are Goodyear F-1 All Season Radials with
less than 50 miles. And YES, the car has A/C that blows cold air.
This
restoration was not meant to be a concourse winning show car, but a solid, reliable,
everyday running and driving car. No expense was spared and this is one of my
favorite restorations yet. I am in the process of finishing 2 more beautiful Porsche
restorations that will be available for sale in a matter of weeks. I
have an incredible following for my Porsche restorations and this car will sell,
but I have no problem keeping this car if it doesnâ€t. Most of
the cars I restore are for current clients with their own design in mind, however
this is one that started with such a nice clean stock Porsche, I wanted to build
this one to my own specific specs. Itâ€s that nice and it is
a gorgeous and reliable machine. Just about everything on the car is new and this
car is very strong. I am not interested in trades. If you know anything
about Porsches and can see the quality of this car, you already know what kind
of money I have into it. This car is not cheap and certainly may not be the car
for you, so please, bid only if youâ€re truly interested in this
beautiful machine. Please have funds secure before committing to purchase. Everyone
wants an awesome Porsche, but this one will go to a respectable and true Porsche
enthusiast. I might suggest JJ Best Banc for financing (www.jjbestbanc.com) .
They are great to work with, very quick to inspect the car and offer decent financing
terms. Feel free to also contact Mark or Dave at Specialty Cars Service Center
at (610) 437-9333 in Allentown, PA and ask them about Randyâ€s
1986 993 Strosek Porsche restoration. I welcome inspections prior to the auction
ending, however this car is being sold AS IS with no warranty offered or implied. |
